Why Choose Yolo Colorhouse Paints?
Zero-VOC paint and zero-VOC tints add up to 100% health for you and your family. Many other companies put tints full of VOCs into their low- or zero-VOC paints.
Performs like a premium conventional paint – smooth coverage, excellent hide, outstanding scrubability.
Green Seal Certified - YOLO paints pass the updated Green Seal requirements, which prohibit over 1000 dangerous chemicals.  No other paint has passed this requirement!  Other green certifications require testing for only 25 chemicals. Green Seal certification also includes a performance standard, which is missing in many other green certifications.  With YOLO you can be certain there are NO carcinogens, NO reproductive toxins, NO mutagens, NO hazardous air pollutants and NO ozone-depleting compounds.
Harmonious designer color palette, plus color matching available to most of the top brands, including Benjamin Moore, Pittsburgh Paints, Behr, and many others.
YOLO Colorhouse produces only zero-VOC paints. It is their passion, not an after thought product to make them look good.
Green through and through - packaging, display, samples and corporate policies are all as green as it gets.
Competitively priced.
Interior and exterior paints.
Unique Poster Swatch Sampling System – YOLO uses 2-foot square posters painted with real paint and with repositionable adhesive so that you can test them on lots of different walls to see how light and furniture affect the look of the color. No tiny can of paint to labor over and make a mess with! Plus, when you are done deciding on your color, you can use the poster to line your shelves or drawers or to elegantly wrap a special gift – now that’s green!

Colors & Color Matching
YOLO has created a magnificent palette of colors based on nature. These colors were created to be timeless and easy to live with, adding a sense of depth to interior spaces. YOLO has created a unique sampling system consisting of posters of real paint in their Eggshell finish. These posters allow you to easily sample the YOLO colors on different walls and in a variety of different lights so that you are sure to find the best color for your project. We also have fan decks of the entire YOLO inside palette to help you choose which color combinations are best for you.

If you can’t find a color you love in the YOLO palette, we can match most competitor’s paint colors. Please note that we do not have access to these additional color formulas on Saturdays. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Click here for a complete list of the fan decks that we can match.

Sheens
Which sheen is right for you? For the most part, this is a personal preference, but the information below will help you determine which sheen will best suit your project.

Choosing a Primer
YOLO Inside Primer
is for use on new drywall, patched spots, new non-bleeding wood and walls previously painted with latex or acrylic paint. Inside primer is not suitable for unpainted/unprimed metals. Primer can be used to prepare eggshell or semi-gloss paints for repainting. Primer can also be used to reduce the amount of paint needed when transitioning from a dark to a light color. Similarly, tinted primer can be used if transitioning from a light to a dark color.

YOLO Inside Transitional Primer is for use on walls or trim that have been previously painted with oil-based paint. Transitional primer may also be used anywhere that inside primer is appropriate.

YOLO Outside Primer is suitable for non-bleeding bare or new wood, cured masonry or plaster and spackled areas but not for unpainted/unprimed metals.

Product Specs & Usage
Any painter will tell you that painting is 80% preparation and 20% painting. Unfortunately, most of us don’t have the patience for the prep work and just want to get to the painting. We urge you to take the time to do the job right. It does make a noticeable difference!

To get the best results, please consult the YOLO Product Data Sheets for the paint you are using before you begin your project. These contain information on preparation, painting, cleanup and disposal for your paint.
